This page is to thank some very special people. These are people who gave so much of themselves
during Mandy's illness.

MARILYN

Marilyn is a very special friend of our family. (She is Mandy's father's long-term girlfriend). Long
before Mandy became ill, Marilyn was loved and appreciated by the entire family. After Mandy was
diagnosed, Marilyn was there for her and the girls. She babysat Mandy's children in order to give
Mandy's father more time to be with Mandy and also to allow our Mother a much needed break. She
spent weekends with our family and provided constant support to all of us and went with Mandy's
father to the hospital to visit Mandy.

During Mandy's last week, she suffered from pain and cramping in her arms and legs. Marilyn sat
with her for hours at a time, providing her with massages as well as comforting words. After
Mandy passed away, Marilyn was there for the entire family, providing love and support, especially to
Mandy's father who has said he would never have made it without Marilyn's love and support.

SCOTT

Scott is a cancer survivor. He was with Mandy almost immediately after she was diagnosed. He was
with Mandy either in person or by telephone around the clock. He also set in motion the prayer circle
for Mandy, which she appreciated so much.

FERNANDO

Fernando was Mandy's employer at State Farm Insurance. Mandy had just been laid off when she
became ill. Other former employers would have done nothing or perhaps send flowers, but not
Fernando. He helped arrange for donations within the State Farm family to provide Mandy with
a laptop computer with DVD. Because of their generosity, Mandy was able to keep in touch with her
friends and family via email, as well as being able to watch movies.

Fernando was generous to Mandy in other ways as well, both personally and financially.

HEATHER and LILY

Heather and Lily worked with Mandy at State Farm. In addition, they were good friends to Mandy.
They helped set up the company donation for the laptop computer and visited Mandy regularly. Mandy
was very grateful for their friendship.

In addition, Heather was at Mandy's hosptial bedside nearly every day. It wasn't unusual for her
to be with Mandy at ten or eleven o'clock at night. She spent many hours with Mandy, talking to her,
holding her hand and giving her strength & hope.

STATE FARM INSURANCE EMPLOYEES

Mandy was so grateful for those wonderful employees of State Farm who sent in the monies to buy
her Laptop/DVD. She was amazed that people who didn't even know her would be so giving. Due to
their generosity, Mandy got through many nights, going online or watching movies.

KEVIN & DEBBIE

Kevin and Debbie provided very special support to Mandy and the family. Kevin is the godfather to
Mariah and Didi and he and Debbie have been friends with Mandy for several years. In addition, Kevin
is a minister and he gave Mandy so much support that we can never fully express our gratitude to him.

Kevin was in Mandy's hospital room with her and her father on the night Mandy passed away.
Afterwards, he was there for her father and Mandy's children.

JACKIE

Mandy and Jackie were friends for many years. When Mandy became ill, Jackie spent long hours
with her. She also provided transportation to and from the hospital for family members, for which we
are very thankful.

BERNADETTE and ABBIE

Bernadette and Abbie were two very special night-time nurses who took care of Mandy while she was
at Highland Hospital. Mandy had a difficult time sleeping and Bernadette and Abbie allowed her to
"hang out" with them. Mandy often talked about these two "angels" because the nights were so
difficult for her. These two lovely ladies helped her get through those lonely nights and, later, they
visited Mandy when she was transferred to UCSF. Mandy was very grateful for them and we are too.

THE DOCTORS AND NURSES AT UCSF

Last but certainly not least, a Very Special Thank You must go to the Doctors and Nurses at UCSF.
They provided Mandy with compassionate and excellent care and were willing to try anything to help
her right up to the very end.
